Diane von Furstenberg Spring/Summer 2016 *Fortuna* collection – New York Fashion Week

Diane von Furstenberg Spring/Summer 2016 ready-to-wear *Fortuna* collection was shown in NYFW,September 13, 2015.
Diane von Furstenberg chose as her muse for her Spring/Summer 2016 collection the Roman goddess Fortuna. She who represents luck, fortune, and fate. That could  be a description of Diane von Furstenberg herself. DVF has spent a lifetime creating her own happiness, prosperity, and destiny.
Spring/Summer 2016 collection embraced dreamy dresses and cool draping that leans towards a Studio 54, 1970s moment. Diane von Furstenberg sent more that  thirty Looks on the runway .
The colours such  hot pinks, marigold yellows, lilacs, and shimmering golds gave the ensembles a steamy hot house sensuality. A notion accentuated by pleated grecian chiffon gowns topped off with strips of python or those covered in gold embroidered butterflies. If some of the mash up of multiple vibrantly-colored small motif silk printed dresses felt a tad too busy for most, they were smartly offset with more muted, but no less alluring, looks. A white tweed pantsuit and gold lace floor-skimming dress come immediately to mind.
DVF’s runway cast boasted of top models including Karlie Kloss, Irina Shayk, Kendall Jenner, Gigi and Bella Hadid and Lily Aldridge.

Alexander Wang Spring/Summer 2016 collection -Return to urban roots in New York Fashion Week

Alexander Wang  Spring/Summer 2016 ready-to-wear collection was shown September 12, 2015 in NYFW.
For his 10th anniversary collection Alexander Wang brought out the slouchy, cool, off-duty athleisure that made him a rock star name. Wang brought back the signature looks that made him a name in the first place.  Wang’s spell at Balenciaga ends in October, after less than three years as creative director. His last collection , spring/summer 2016, created for Balenciaga will be shown on October 2, in Paris Fashion Week.
Trading in last season’s gothic inspired look, the new season featured more everyday staples including denim separates, military-inspired jackets and hoodies with a graphic edge. Bold stripes, chain link details, fringe and mesh made these wardrobe staples far from minimal. Wang also experimented with evening wear inspired looks in his own way with long, flowing dresses given a street style makeover when paired with oversized coats or baseball caps.
At the end of the show and before the party, Wang showed an edgy video looking back on his career, broadcast from the backing wall. Then it was all eyes on the semi-clad, athletic pole dancers strutting their stuff.
And if we take a look at the front row we can see Lady Gaga,Mary J Blige, Steven Klein, Nicki Minaj and Kanye West.

Altuzarra Spring/Summer 2016 collection – New York Fashion Week

Altuzarra Spring/Summer 2016 ready-to-wear collection designed by Joseph Altuzarra was shown on September 12,2015 in New York Fashion Week.
For inspiration, Altuzarra looked to his Basque heritage on his father’s side ,
„It was a lot about these pagan costumes that people around Europe wear during festivals and there was a whole section that was about these Basque costumes that they still wear at the festivals and that’s what started my thinking about Basque culture and my heritage.“  recounted Altuzarra backstage after his Show.
The interesting textures were the name of the game, from wrinkled and creased dresses to the elaborate mother of pearl-embellished dresses that appeared halfway through the Show.
Suiting and jumpsuits were looking approachable, crafted as they were out of wrinkled linens. As did the crêpe plissé skirts and dresses that came with strategic slits or sliding seductively off shoulders. And fitted knit tops that split apart at the sleeves to expose just a sliver of extra skin had an understated allure.
